Tamra Jarrett, District 2 Commissioner, lives in Meansville with husband, Larry. They have two adult children and one grandson.
Proud to be part of the Pike community and honored to have been elected to serve its citizens, Tamra has lived in Pike County for 15 years. Her children attended school here, and she was fortunate to have worked as a local newspaper reporter/editor. Originally from West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University, she studied journalism and political science and currently works part-time for a large university.
Tamra aspired to the Pike County commission because she wanted to make a positive difference in her community. Having covered Pike County government and many other aspects of the county as a reporter journalist, she believes she can positively affect the many issues that impact those who live here. She is anxious, however, to enhance on that basic knowledge with a continuing process of education as she strives to govern with excellence. She is earnest in her commitment to be responsive to the concerns of the citizens and be always mindful that government is the people’s business.
