Carol Bass, District 1 Commissioner, moved with her family to Pike County in 1988. She completed Leadership Pike in 2004 and was honored for her efforts in government accountability by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution with “A Hero of Open Government” award in 2005.
Prior to seeking election, Carol served on the Board of Appeals, as an interim member of the Tax Assessors Board, remained active in all aspects of county government and promotes “open, accountable” government. Carol has been employed for the past twelve years as Financial Administrator for a local non-profit specializing in aging services in Griffin, Georgia.
Carol and husband Jimmy live in Concord and attend Concord Baptist Church. They are the proud parents of four children and seven grandchildren.
